Preston Mark No.143, Advancement

On Thursday night Preston Mark had a surprise visit from the PGM ably escorted by Dave Emmerson, Provincial DC and Steve Walls, GADC who was assisting as an Acting Provincial ADC.
 
The reason for the visit was for Peter to act as Senior Deacon in an advancement ceremony for Peters friend David Kavanagh. David's joining, who is well know in many Orders, had attracted visitors from several Masonic Orders and Establishments across West Lancashire.
Those who took part

The Lodge had assembled a cast of Grand and Provincial Officers to occupy the offices in support of the Worshipful Master Steve Bolton.

Bob Norris went to Junior Deacon, Bill Struthers was inner Guard and Mark Reilly acted as Tyler, the scene was set.

David was then advanced with the Acting Senior Deacon using his 'Connolly Manoeuvre'.

The Master shared the work out, working the first section before handing over to Peter Watson. the Signs were explained by Eric Picton and then Bob Norris presented the tools. A superb team effort.
 
Following the ceremony the brethren retired to a very pleasant festive board typical of Preston Masonic Hall.
